Went to Missouri the last weekend of April for Silkenfest ( remember the cute little brindle dog on this homepage of the blog? Anywhoo had a great time, Archie and I made a minivacation of it. To the right is Arch at the arch as he calls it. A lovely park there, official name is the Jefferson Expansion Memorial park. I have the customary cheesy photo here too taken at the arch. We rode the space wagon things to the top. If you've ever been you'll understand what I mean. Tiny little claustrophobia inducing vehicles. If anyone were to burp much less barf it would ALL BE OVER!!! I of course pointed this out to the strangers that we were confined with for both the trip up and down. Here's a neat photo of the old courthouse across from the arch where the Dred Scott decision was rendered. It is lovely inside with ironwork, a museum for old St. Louis, and murals. Finally a couple more cheesy photos of us enjoying the sights. The horses at Budweiser I could have spent all day looking at but they ran me off. The beer however I could have done without and did as I pawned my 2 beers off on Archie who likes beer. As for the dog show part, it was fun, we went to a shrimp boil there sponsored by Chuck and Francie Stull who are experts at it (well Chuck is the specialist) and Archie was drafted as a native coastal Mississippian for help with it. One of my pups was Best puppy in Specialty, she is owned by Marcia and Ed Obregon of Georgia and myself. She is named Preakness, pretty cool name for her.
